About Northwest Auto Care Alliance
The Northwest Auto Care Alliance is an association of automotive service businesses dedicated to improving the automotive service industry and the success of its members. Northwest Auto Care Alliance advances excellence, professionalism and integrity by providing education and member benefit programs, serving as a resource and advocate on legislative and environmental issues affecting the members, and by promoting a Code of Ethics.
Northwest Auto Care Alliance is dedicated to:
• Representing the automotive repair industry in legislative and regulatory matters.
• Enhancing through education of owners, managers, and technicians the professionalism of the automotive repair industry.
• Servicing and maintaining the safe condition of motor vehicles.
• Informing the public of the quality nature of NWACA member work, and enhancing the image of the automotive repair industry.
• Developing unity of the automotive repair industry.
• Preserving, protecting, and improving a safe, healthy and clean environment.
• Acting as a spokesperson for the industry.
• Strongly encouraging members to have their technicians certified by the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) and trained by the Inter-Industry Conference on Auto Collision Repair (I-CAR).

The owners and managers of automotive service businesses that belong to the Northwest Auto Care Alliance agree to adhere to a Code of Ethics. Northwest Auto Care Alliance’s Code of Ethics is the automotive service industry’s standard for professional business practices.Â
Northwest Auto Care Alliance is Dedicated to:

History of Northwest Auto Care Alliance
NWACA is the largest organization representing the independent automotive repair and service industry in the northwest.
NWACA is dedicated to:
- Enhancing through education the professionalism of the automotive repair/service businesses.
- Informing the motoring public of the quality nature of member workmanship.
- Representing the industry in legislative matters.
- Acting as a spokesperson for the industry at the national and local level.
The structure of NWACA is divided into three divisions—Mechanical, Transmission and Collision.
Each of these divisions offer an impressive array of benefits to the members. Â These include management and technician training seminars, video tapes, technical bulletins, management and technical hot line information, a credit union, Retro Programs, insurance, cellular discounts, laundry savings and many other business services at a savings to the members.
Major events conducted by Northwest Auto Care Alliance are:
The Automotive Training Expo (ATE) held annually.  Over 80 exhibitors  present their equipment, products and services.  Forty management and technical training seminars.
Throughout the year many training seminars are either presented or sponsored by Northwest Auto Care Alliance. Â These seminars are scheduled throughout Washington and Oregon covering information that is useful to mechanical, transmission and collision business owners and technicians.
Each year two Management Conference Retreats are scheduled at resort locations in Washington or Oregon. These retreats offer an excellent opportunity for business owners to break-away from the daily business tasks and enjoy a relaxing weekend with fellow industry members, and their spouses. However, it’s not all fun and games as each retreat offers industry round table discussions and at least one management oriented seminar.
Northwest Auto Care Alliance produces a monthly member e-mail publication, the Dateline.  The Dateline publishes articles of interest to the mechanical, transmission, and collision members. Topics include general industry news, new products and services, management, environmental and legislative news. The Dateline is the source for information on new regulations that affect the members businesses.
Northwest Auto Care Alliance is involved with educators and students, pointing out the opportunities available in this industry and suggesting specific educational requirements necessary to perform the many and varied job functions required today.
Recognizing that a solid image is essential to attracting employees, Northwest Auto Care Alliance is constantly seeking and supporting ways to improve the image of the industry. Â It is paramount however, that we recognize our strengths and contribution to this country and its transportation system, and constantly present a positive image to the media, educators, parents and, most importantly to our present employees if we are to have any chance of success in attracting qualified employees to this industry in future years.
